SUPERMARKET giants Coles and Aldi will be part of the redeveloped Karrinyup Shopping Centre.

AMP Capital announced the chains would join Woolworths at the centre’s fresh food precinct in mid-2021.

The centre is undergoing an $800 million redevelopment, which will see it nearly double in size.

The development will also feature a Hoyts cinema and alfresco dining area.

Woolworths will also be refurbished.

Divisional WA development manager Scott Nugent said it would give customers greater variety.

“The new fresh food precinct will offer customers a diverse foodie experience, with supermarkets, local growers and special events,” he said.

“Attracting Coles and ALDI, along with other exciting retailers and specialty stores, shows that there’s great interest and growth in the area.

“The completed centre will offer customers a more vibrant and convenient shopping experience.”

The Karrinyup redevelopment is expected to be finished by the end of 2021.
