SPECIALLY DESIGNED trolleys capable of carrying children with a disability are now available at one of the country’s biggest supermarket chains.

The trolleys are a product of three years of research to design and manufacture a trolley, which can assist parents with children who have special needs.

The additional needs trolley is now available from the customer service desk at Coles in Balcatta, Innaloo and Scarborough.

Signage is also displayed at the front of the stores to encourage customers to access the additional needs trolley.

Australian Network on Disability chief executive Suzanne Colbert said the trolleys would make grocery shopping easier for families of children with a disability, without the experience causing undue stress or anxiety.
