Council workers water drenched trees

THERE could be no questioning a Perth council worker’s dedication today, but we did – wrongly – query their common sense.

A City of Stirling truck was spotted on Jon Sanders Drive in Osborne Park this afternoon, watering newly planted trees.

But the operator seemed oblivious to the fact the suburb was being drenched by heavy rain.

However, it seems we jumped the gun.

A City of Stirling spokeswoman confirmed the workers were only watering the new trees, which require more than established trees, and were using a spray which contained special nutrients.
