Arrest over alleged burglary spree

POLICE have arrested a man over several burglaries after finding him hiding in the cupboard of a Scarborough home.

Police dog Whiskey helped Scarborough police officers arrest the 29-year-old Nollamara man on March 24.

He broke in through the roof of the house on Wilton Place while allegedly fleeing from police.

Officers apprehended the man while he was hiding on a shelf in an open cupboard inside the home.

He was charged with 23 offences, including aggravated home burglary, stealing a motor vehicle, aggravated assault and criminal damage.

Offences occurred in suburbs across Perth, including Hamersley, Yokine, Morley, Lathlain, Coolbinia, Joondalup and Ridgewood.

The man was remanded in custody and will face Perth Magistrates Court via video link on April 23.


Charge for freeway speeding

A DRIVER was caught speeding at 155km/h on the Mitchell Freeway in Osborne Park last month.

The 22-year-old Kingsley man was allegedly speeding for 400m in the 100km/h zone on March 22 about 10pm.

He had his vehicle impounded and was charged with reckless driving.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on May 23.




Police nab man at parents’ home

A SEARCH of a Karrinyup home has resulted in drugs charges for a 20-year-old man.

Scarborough police executed the search warrant on March 22 at the Milverton Avenue property, where the young man lived with his parents.

They allegedly found bags containing cannabis leaf material, an illegal butterfly knife and various smoking implements with traces of illicit substances and $3750 cash in $50 notes.

The man will face charges including possession of cannabis, a prohibited weapon, drug paraphernalia and stolen or unlawfully obtained property.


Cameras stolen

SCARBOROUGH police are investigating a burglary at an Osborne Park business.

Two men forced entry to the Howe Street business on March 12 about 3.50am.

They entered by breaking a glass window, then removed several CCTV cameras from inside and left with them.

Police want to speak to the men pictured, who were wearing long-sleeved jumpers and pants.

One of the men had his face covered and the second man wore a hooded jumper.

Police need help identifying this man.
