KARRINYUP

PUBLIC information resulted in drugs charges for a Karrinyup man (35).

Scarborough police searched an Exford Way property on June 20 after reports from the public.

The man was charged with drug possession and possessing drug paraphernalia.

SCARBOROUGH

THE WA Police State Security Unit is investigating after a vandal left their mark on a Scarborough supermarket (pictured).

The words “IM VEGAN” (sic) were discovered on June 18 spraypainted on to the wall of the Coles supermarket facing West Coast Highway.

The vandalism was reported to Scarborough police, but the State Security Unit has since taken control of the investigation.

DOUBLEVIEW

A WOMAN has been charged after allegedly assaulting her partner.

Police were called to a Holbeck Street property on June 19 at 6am after reports of two people fighting.

A woman reported she was allegedly assaulted by her partner using the centre section of a dumbbell.

The victim suffered a 2cm laceration above her left eyebrow, swelling and bruising to her left eye and a 1cm laceration to the back of her head.

She was treated at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital but did not suffer serious injuries.

Police arrested the victim’s 41-year-old partner in Rivervale and charged her with aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm.

OSBORNE PARK

SCARBOROUGH police arrested a man who tried to force his way into a home armed with a machete.

Officers were first called to the Osborne Park property on June 18 after a woman reported her partner had assaulted her.

The 28-year-old man was issued with a 72-hour police order requiring him to stay away from the home.

He returned to the property on June 19 at 9am where his partner, her mother and the couple’s four children were home at the time.

The man was armed with a homemade machete and tried to force his way into the house via the rear door.

The victim’s mother called police and the man was arrested in the driveway.

He was sentenced to a nine-month community- based order after pleading guilty to breaching a police order, aggravated assault, possession of a controlled weapon and criminal damage.
