WILDCATS captain Damian Martin spent last Wednesday morning serving up breakfast for Lake Monger Primary school students as part of his role for Foodbank WA.
The Foodbank WA ambassador joined volunteers from Floreat All Saints Uniting Church to serve up a healthy breakfast to help fight hunger in the classroom.
“It’s great to be able to serve up breakfast to the kids,” Martin said.

READ NOW“Many students start their day with very little or no breakfast at all, some may not have had enough dinner the night before either; the program really does make an immediate difference to the lives of those who attend.”
Lake Monger Primary School Principal Diane Tomlinson said the Foodbank breakfast program provided 40 students from Years 1 to 6 with a nutritional breakfast every week.
“Something as simple as a wholesome breakfast encourages students to and really engage in the classroom activities,” she said.
“It also helps them to build better friendships, as they have full tummies and feel happy and safe.”
Lake Monger Primary School is one of 432 schools participating in the Foodbank School Breakfast Program across WA.
Every week more than 18,000 students enjoy a nutritious breakfast donated by Foodbank WA and served up by local school based volunteers.
