Date change for annual electors meeting

Laura PondStirling Times

THE annual City of Stirling electors’ general meeting has been postponed to December 2.

Last year’s meeting was rescheduled from November to December because there was a delay in the City receiving the auditor’s report for inclusion in its annual report, which is presented at the electors’ meeting.

The change meant the meeting was held the day before the final council meeting of the year.

A City report at the September 10 council meeting said the postponement gave more time for staff to consider, assess and report on motions made at the meeting, which it described as a “positive outcome” for electors.

Councillors approved changing the 2019 electors’ meeting from November 10 to Monday, December 2.

At their August 27 meeting they resolved for the 2020 meeting to also be held the day before the last council meeting of the year.
