Developer will consult Scarborough residents on Contacio site.

SCARBOROUGH residents and businesses will get the opportunity to take park in workshops about plans to develop the old Contacio site.

Developer 3 Oceans Property Managing Director Dyno Zhang said the site at the corner of West Coast Highway and Scarborough Beach Road, was an important part of Scarborough’s identity.

“It has the potential to become a landmark for both the local community and its many visitors – blurring the edges between Scarborough’s beachfront and urban life,” he said.

“The vision for redevelopment is to create a development of international standard which celebrates the area’s unique identity and delivers new public spaces and attractions, living and retail options and infrastructure.”

The planning application will be considered by the Metropolitan Development Authority (MRA), the planning authority for the Scarborough Redevelopment Area.

“We are very keen to hear from local people about the vision for the site and provide an opportunity for them to provide input, prior to submission of a development application,” Mr Zhang said.
