PARALYMPIAN Brant Garvey and his wife Natalie Medwid, of Trigg, have added a baby boy to their family.

Olek Adam Garvey was born on October 6 at King Edward Memorial Hospital weighing in at 2.71kg three weeks early.

“It was a bit of a shock to my timeline,” Garvey said.

The name recognises Natalie’s Ukrainian background.

“She wanted to keep it part of the family and I love the name,” Garvey said.

“She’s had the name reserved for two years.”

Garvey said the family of three had already been on a few walks but he was hanging out for when Olek had the neck strength to go for a run or a ride together.

“We’re both very smitten and haven’t slept much at all,” he said.
