Some of the species reportedly sighted include great white sharks and bronze whalers, as well as others unidentified.

The majority of the sightings have been reported in the area of Mettams Pool to Watermans Bay, a distance of two kilometres.

The State Government’s Sharksmart website urged people to take caution in the Trigg to Mettam’s Pool area, and to report any sightings to water police on 9442 8600.
