Perth: former Department of Child Protection worker on child sex charges

A FORMER Department of Child Protection employee has been charged with child sex offences which allegedly occurred at group homes in Doubleview and Darlington.

Between 1998 and 2000 the 59-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted two girls and one boy who were aged between eight and 10 years of age at the time of the first offence.

During the above times the man was employed by the Department of Child Protection at the Doubleview Group Home and Darlington Hostel.

The man, from Midvale, has been charged with nine counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13 years and five counts of indecently dealing with a child under 13.

He is due to appear before the Midland Magistrates Court today.
