GHOST The Musical stars Rob Mills and Jemma Rix gave up their warm attire on Thursday as part of the Salvation Army’s Shed Your Winter Coat Appeal.

The duo, currently in Perth for the WA season of the show, placed their warm items of clothing in the charity’s collection bin at Karrinyup Shopping Centre to kick off the campaign, which begins on June 7.

Salvation Army public relations secretary Warren Palmer said it was simple necessities including food and clothing that were the challenge for Perth’s disadvantaged.

“People are regularly going without items, services and activities that are part of every day living and important for full participation in community life,” Mr Palmer said.

Rix, currently staring as Molly in the stage adaptation of the movie said the cast were happy to support the appeal and called on the community to donate.

“We would love the people of Perth to give generously and show loving kindness to those in need this winter,” Rix said.

Karrinyup Shopping Centre marketing manager Claire Ridley said the centre aimed to raise more than 3000 articles of warm clothing, as well as $4000 in donations for The Salvation Army.
