A 29-year-old woman is facing Perth Magistrates Court this morning after an alleged police chase through several suburbs and damage to a number of cars.

Police allege the Glendalough woman stole a silver Mazda sedan from Balcatta at 2pm yesterday afternoon.

Officers spotted the car at 3.50pm near Great Eastern Highway in Belmont, and a police chase through several suburbs towards Perth ensued.

The car swiped a stationary police vehicle near the intersection of Wellington and Barrack Street in the CBD, then continued onto Wellington Street.

The woman attempted to drive through heavy traffic, swiping two more cars before being arrested by police.

She was charged with motor vehicle theft and reckless driving, no authority to drive, failing to comply with a direction to stop under circumstances of aggravation, reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, failure to stop (property damage) and possession of stolen property.
