AMATEUR cooks have shown off their skills at a Perth competition.
Gwelup resident Linda Millington was one of four seniors battling it out in the Big Bethanie Bake Off.
Aged care provider Bethanie runs the competition to help close the gap between seniors and youths, encouraging them to cook their favourite family recipe.
Ms Millington won the best senior award for her gingerbread cake with lemon icing.
She said she enjoyed making the cake for family, friends and staff at Bethanie Gwelup, and people always came back for seconds and thirds.
Bethanie chief executive Chris How said he enjoyed seeing the interaction between generations during the competition.
“Choosing a winner gets harder every year, but the joy on all the finalists’ faces when they finish their cook and present their dishes to us is priceless,” he said.
