Hale Exhibition: local artists to take part in school showing

In what the ceramic artist described as a “traumatic” situation, she worked hard to produce several pieces for the annual Hale Exhibition.

“I was overseas at the time and found out from a neighbour that a water pipe had burst, causing some serious damage to my studio and kiln,” she said. “The last 10 weeks haven’t been easy but I used the facilities at a local pottery club, Perth Studio Potters.”

Despite the damage, she said she hoped her work would entice people to support the Hale Exhibition.

The exhibition opens on Friday, July 29, and runs until Sunday, July 31.

Curator Karina Buckingham said the fine art exhibition, which began in 1993, would highlight a range of local artists.

“Fine Art at Hale is a highlight on the calendar of many art enthusiasts and collectors and we are very excited to showcase some remarkable local artists this year,” she said.
