Harvey takes on deputy role

Treasurer and Energy Minister Mike Nahan considered running but decided against it, giving Ms Harvey the role.

Currently the Minister for Police, Road Safety, Training and Workforce Development and Women’s Interests, Ms Harvey was elected at the 2008 general election.

She was appointed parliamentary secretary to the Minister for Finance, Commerce and Small Business in December 2010 and promoted to the position of Minister for Police and Road Safety in June 2012.

Ms Harvey, a Scarborough resident of 20 years, ran a successful small business with her late husband Hal Harvey, who passed away in 2014.

Born in Manjimup, Ms Harvey is the third of six children and a fifth generation West Australian.
