RESIDENTS can soon have their say in the $75.4 million Scarborough Foreshore Redevelopment as part of a community advisory group.
The nine-member group is expected to hold its first meeting in July and will provide input into the proposed road extensions and traffic network design associated with the Scarborough Master Plan.
Planning Minister Donna Faragher said she was calling for expressions of interest in the group with nominations closing on July 1.
“The community advisory group is being established to represent all sections of the local community including businesses, residents and local environmental groups,” Mrs Faragher said
The group will be chaired by North Metropolitan Region MLC Liz Behjat and will include representatives from the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) and the City of Stirling.
Mrs Faragher said works would continue for the next 18 months with the enhanced Scarborough foreshore expected to be largely completed before the 2018 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.
Interested groups or individuals can submit nominations in writing (300 words) to scarboroughcommunity@ mra.wa.gov.au by 5pm on July 1.
