Mission Australia State Director Melissa Perry said all contributions would help cover the cost of making Christmas Day a special one for up to 2000 people who might be isolated or lonely.

‘Our lunch is open to people from all walks of life ” it’s about bringing the community together to celebrate the Christmas spirit,’ she said.

‘Christmas Lunch in the Park is my gift to my boys to make sure they have a wonderful day and experience the joy of Christmas Day,’ Ms Martin said.

‘It’s great to be able to share the day with so many different people and see the smiles on all the kids’ faces when Santa arrives.

‘It’s a very special day for everyone.’
