Innaloo shopping centre recognised by City for shopper inclusion efforts

DISABILTY access is a top priority for Westfield Innaloo Shopping Centre, which has been awarded for efforts to improve inclusion for shoppers.

The centre was awarded an Accessible Stirling award by the City of Stirling for their initiative, which includes wheelchairs, mobility scooter charging stations and electric power shoppers.

Mayor Giovanni Italiano said the centre should be commended for its efforts.

“This has provided mobility impaired customers with a service that enables them to access the entire shopping centre at their own leisure,” he said.

Scentre Group Regional Manager Kate Holsgrove said the elderly and other people with limited mobility were regular visitors at the centre.

“Offering electric power shoppers and wheelchairs available for hire at any time provides comfort and piece of mind,” she said.

“Another initiative we have introduced is mobility pickup services where shoppers with limited mobility can hire an electric power shopper or wheelchair and have the one of our staff members meet them at their car,”

Open to all businesses within the City of Stirling, the awards recognise access and inclusion for their staff and customers.
