Innaloo: St Dominic’s School students help design new playground

Laura PondStirling Times

CHILDREN helped design a recently opened playground at an Innaloo school.

St Dominic’s School transformed its previous playground into an exciting nature-based play space for students.

Staff created the design after visiting other schools in the area, using students’ drawn designs and seeking ideas from parents.

Nature Playgrounds delivered the project using custom-made and locally sourced materials.

Teacher Jemma Davis said the parents and friends association raised $25,000 towards the playground.

“The (association) held a quiz night, colour fun run and numerous cake stalls and sausage sizzles to raise these funds, which was quite outstanding for a small school community,” she said.

“The children are loving it and so are the families.”
