JENNIFER Pitcher has been named Osborne Park Hospital’s Nurse/Midwife of the Year.

Ms Pitcher has been a midwife for 30 years and lactation consultant for the past 23 years, and is dedicated to empowering women to give their babies the best start in life through breastfeeding.

“I want to help mums in their breastfeeding journey and instil confidence in breastfeeding, and consequently build a strong foundation for parenting,” she said.

Acting nurse co-director Lorraine Beaty praised Ms Pitcher and the other five nominees.

“All of our midwives and nurses work hard to provide exceptional care to our patients and it is wonderful that Jennifer has been recognised and acknowledged for her dedication to patient care,” she said.
