Joondanna writer embarks on marathon of a literary kind

JOONDANNA writer Nilda Eisen has completed a marathon of a different kind.

Ms Eisen demonstrated her writing flair and speed by placing third in the Society of Women Writers WA’s recent marathon writing competition.

The marathon featured 10 challenges where participants had 20 minutes to write as much as they could on the topic in the time given.

It aimed to help break writer’s block, provide inspiration and push writers out of their comfort zone.

The society meets on the third Tuesday of the month from noon to 2pm at Citiplace Community Centre in Perth, and runs a variety of events for women and men.
