Karrinyup beauty therapist charged over alleged credit card photos

A 23-year-old woman has been charged after she allegedly photographed customers’ credit cards while she was working as a beauty therapist in Karrinyup.

On Tuesday April 10 Joondalup detectives executed a search warrant at a house on Solander Road, Hillarys.

One of the items seized during that warrant was a mobile phone which police say contained numerous photographs of credit cards.

On Friday April 27, following their investigation into the photographs, detectives charged a woman (who was at the property) with a number of offences.

It will be alleged the woman photographed the credit cards of customers without their consent while working as a beauty therapist in Karrinyup.

It is further alleged that she forwarded the photos to other people for them to use.

A 23-year-old woman from Duncraig has been charged with 30 counts of making, using or supplying identification material with intent to commit an offence.

She has also been charged with two counts of possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property and one count of possessing methylamphetamine.

She will appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on May 23.
