Karrinyup institution saved from closure

SHOPPING Centre management have stepped in to save a Karrinyup institution.

Miss Maud was previously slated to close during the Karrinyup Shopping Centre redevelopment and reopen once it’s complete in about two years.

But the popular cafe will now relocate within the centre.

Centre manager Tim Richards said the business was expected to close on April 18 before reopening near Woolworths after Easter.

“We are thrilled to be able to relocate Miss Maud to the fresh food mall and keep this beloved Karrinyup institution open throughout the redevelopment,” he said.

“Some of our customers have been frequenting Miss Maud for many years and they can now continue to do so.

“Over 130 retailers are continuing to trade as normal during the redevelopment, so customers can still access a wide range of specialty stores, eateries and everyday conveniences.”
