Karrinyup man charged with child sex offences committed at school

POLICE have charged a 63-year-old Karrinyup man over child sexual assaults that occurred at a primary school where he was a volunteer.

It will be alleged in 2005 the man, who was a volunteer at the school during 2005 and 2006, sexually assaulted a girl who was eight years old at the time of the first offence.

The offences occurred during school hours and he has been charged with three counts of indecent dealing with a child under 13 years.

Detectives executed a search warrant on Wednesday 1 November 2017 at the man’s residence where they seized computers and electronic storage devices.

It will be alleged that images of child exploitation material were located at the address.

The man was further charged with possession of child Exploitation material and possessing drug paraphernalia.

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
