A KARRINYUP plumber has been fined for not having proper certifications.

The Plumbers Licensing Board fined plumbing contractor Joseph Travaglini $1000 for failing to submit the notifications and certifications required for plumbing work.

It followed a targeted plumbing certification audit by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety at Mr Travaglini’s premises in June.

The board found he failed to provide three notices of intention to carry out major plumbing work at least 24 hours before the work, failed to give the board and owners eight certificates of compliance for major plumbing work within five days of the completion of the work, and did not provide 10 certificates of compliance, covering 38 minor plumbing work projects, within five working days of the end of the calendar month.

The breaches were committed by Mr Travaglini in the three years prior to the audit.
