Karrinyup: police close Davenport St after early morning incident in suburb

POLICE have closed a Karrinyup road and a man is in custody following an incident this morning.

Officers attended after receiving several reports of a man creating a disturbance in Davenport Street about 6.15am.

The man, aged in his 50s, is believed to have had a physical altercation with a number of residents and St John Ambulance officers attended to assist three injured people.

The man was taken into custody and is being assessed by staff at Royal Perth Hospital.

Police have established a large protected forensic area that has closed Davenport Street between Pike Street and Francis Avenue.

The City of Stirling advised Karrinyup Library and community centre are closed while police investigate.
