Karrinyup Shopping Centre redevelopment to include Hoyts cinema

A NEW Hoyts cinema complex will be a main feature of the $600 million Karrinyup Shopping Centre re-vamp.

City of Stirling Mayor Giovanni Italiano said he was delighted with the deal between Hoyts and building manager AMP Capital, who was awarded the tender in July .

“The cinemas are much-needed and welcomed by the Stirling community and I fully support the introduction of Hoyts into Karrinyup Shopping Centre, it is great to be able to give our community more choice,” he said.

The complex will be the only cinema north of the CBD with 11 screens, including two Xtremescreens.

The Karrinyup Shopping Centre redevelopment will deliver a number of new large format international retailers, high-quality fashion retailers, an exciting food and entertainment offering and residential apartments.

Hoyts group chief executive Damian Keogh said the group were “thrilled” to be upgrading the Perth cinema market.

The announcement follows a 12-screen multiplex from Palace Cinemas in Raine Square in the CBD.
