Man unconciousness after king hit at Innaloo pub

Lauren PilatStirling Times

Michelle Jaxzhi, who was at the Innaloo pub, said she heard a loud crack as the man hit the ground.

“I didn’t see a fight; I was walking past and saw a bunch of guys rush past me,” Ms Jaxzhi said.

“They knocked me down on the way to him (the man who was king hit) and then I heard the loudest crack as the guy’s head hit the ground. I was still on the floor and looked to where he was and he was surrounded by a pool of blood.”

The Marangaroo resident said it made her sick thinking about what happened.

Officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Neville Patterson said Licence Enforcement Unit officers were on duty at The Saint about 9pm when they were alerted to a disturbance upstairs.

“Several fights were in progress and one male was knocked unconscious,” he said. “The premises was shut down, causing the crowd to become hostile.

“More fights broke out and several police vehicles had to attend to disperse the crowd while attempting to maintain a crime scene within the premises.”

Snr Sgt Patterson said the man who was assaulted sustained several facial fractures.

He was intubated and sedated in the intensive care unit and is now in a stable condition assisting Mirrabooka Detectives with their investigation.

Management from the Woolworths-owned The Saint George declined to comment.
