Man arrested after brandishing 30cm knife at shops

A MAN has been charged after brandishing a 30cm long kitchen knife at an Innaloo shopping centre.

The 50-year-old Innaloo man had the large knife concealed up his shirt sleeve when he attended Westfield Innaloo on Tuesday, May 14.

He then entered HBF at 3.05pm and spoke to two staff members, where he exposed part of the blade.

The staff feared for their safety so called police, who attended and arrested the man.

Scarborough Police charged him with being armed in a way that caused fear and he was bailed to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on June 13.
