A KARRINYUP man has been assaulted in a frightening attack outside his home.

He suffered multiple punches to his head after confronting a woman in the driveway of his Bartlett Crescent property.

The victim told police he heard a loud noise coming from the roof on Tuesday night at about 11pm and went to investigate, when he spotted the woman walking away from his home.

The woman allegedly became aggressive after the victim asked if she had been on his roof, which she admitted.

According to the man, she demanded money and entry to his house before assaulting him.

He yelled for his partner to call police and for help, with a neighbour eventually coming to his aid.

Police arrived shortly after and tried to arrest the woman but she allegedly headbutted one officer in the chest.

She is alleged to have kicked the same officer in the stomach and narrowly missed hitting a constable in the head before they were able to arrest her.

The 32-year-old Katanning woman has been remanded in custody to face court on July 31, charged with assault with intent to rob, attempted aggravated burglary and assaulting a police officer.
