Man charged with alleged assault of teen daughter and ex-partner

A WOMAN and her teenaged daughter were taken to hospital after a terrifying family violence incident in Carine last week.

A Carine father-of-three is accused of assaulting his ex-partner and his daughter and trapping them in his home.

The 15-year-old and her mother went to the man’s home in Carine on August 15, where the former couple’s two younger children were.

Police allege the man (50) became aggressive, assaulting them and stopping them from leaving.

They managed to escape and sought help at a neighbour’s house, where police and an ambulance were called.

The pair were taken to Joondalup Health Campus, where the woman was treated for injuries to her head, neck and side. Her daughter suffered injuries to her neck and face.

The man was released on bail and will face court on September 13 charged with two counts of deprivation of liberty and two counts of aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm.
