Man dies while diving in Perth waters

A MAN in his 50s has died while diving off Perth’s coast.

Two men in a 4.5m boat were diving south of Centaur Reef, off the coast of North Beach when one of them failed to return to the vessel.

The diver contacted police just before 9am.

Police said a marine search commenced with vessels from Department of Transport, Marine Rescue Western Australia and Water Police.

About two hours later, Water Police divers found the missing man’s body.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
