THE Cold Case Serious Crime Squad has successfully sought the extradition from South Australia of a 34-year-old man over an alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in 2002.
It will be alleged the victim was attacked as she walked along a footpath on Wanneroo Road,Balcatta, on the afternoon of December 1, 2002.
The man was arrested by South Australian Police in the northern Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth yesterdayand remanded in custody on a WA Arrest Warrant.

He will be flown back to Perth tomorrow and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday, October 20 charged with one count of sexual penetration of a child over 13 and under 16 years.
The arrest came as a result of a review of the case by the Cold Case Serious Crime Squad, which is tasked with conducting reviews of unsolved historical serious offences.
