Man found unconscious in Scarborough taken to hospital

A 37-year-old man fighting for his life after he was found bloodied and unconscious in Scarborough early this morning.

He was found collapsed in the Indian Ocean Hotel carpark on Hastings Street at 12.50am today and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by ambulance, where he is currently in a serious condition.

The man had been at the Indian Ocean Hotel earlier in the evening and was later found by staff underneath a car in the hotel carpark.

Scarborough Police Senior Sergeant Craig Wanstall said officers were investigating whether the incident was caused by misadventure or there was a criminal element.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between midnight and 12.50am who may have seen the man, or anyone who has dash-cam vision of the area around the hotel.
