A police spokeswoman said about 9.45am officers saw a black Holden Commodore utility allegedly stolen being driven along Mentone Road in Balga.
�It is alleged the vehicle was also used during another burglary earlier,� she said.
�The driver allegedly failed to stop when called upon to do so and drove away in an attempt to evade police.
�The vehicle travelled through various suburbs with the police helicopter following the vehicle.�
Police officers will further allege that on Alexander Drive the vehicle was deliberately driven into a marked police car, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
Three police officers were in the police car at the time.
The driver was apprehended in Maylands after he crashed his car into a member of the public�s vehicle, rendering the stolen car inoperable.
A 27-year-old Westminster man was charged with breach of bail, aggravated burglary and theft, stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly, possessing stolen property and two counts of burglary and theft, stealing a motor vehicle, failing to stop when called upon to do so (circumstance of aggravation), reckless driving, assault with intent to prevent arrest and no authority to drive.
He appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on March 28 and the matter was remanded to April 20.
