A MAN was arrested after he punched a baby and sparked a fight at a suburban pub in Innaloo earlier this month.

The 27-year-old Duncraig man has been charged with endangering the life, health and safety of an infant.

Police alleged the man approached a father outside The Saint hotel’s entrance in Innaloo on Sunday, March 3 at 2.30pm.

The victim was 10-weeks-old at the time and strapped to the front of itsĀ father in a carrier.

The suspect approached the father and asked: “is that a real baby?”

When the father replied “yes” the suspect allegedly punched the baby.

Police claim another man intervened which erupted into a fight between multiple people.

The infant suffered no significant injuries as a result of the attack.

Police arrested the man who is currently on bail and due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on March 18.
