POLICE have charged a man, who already had his license disqualified for life, over a car chase that ended in Carine yesterday.

The chase started when police tried to stop a stolen Holden ute on Crimea Street in Morley about 10.40am.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and accelerated away, where he continued driving in a “reckless manner” through suburbs including Balcatta.

Officers on the ground were assisted by the Police Air Wing.

He abandoned the car after it hit a letterbox outside a home on Alsace Street in Carine.

Mirrabooka Detectives have charged the 21-year-old Leda man with various offences, including stealing a motor vehicle, reckless driving, no authority to drive, failing to stop and property damage.

He will appear at Joondalup Magistrates Court today.
