Man taken to hospital following Stirling group assault

POLICE are investigating after a man was taken to hospital following an alleged assault by a group of men in Stirling last night.

The victim, in his 50’s, was sitting in his silver Hyundai Hatch near Poincaire Street and Cedric Street just before 11.30pm.

He was approached by a group of men, who allegedly demanded his wallet and assaulted him, hitting him in the chest.

The man managed to escape and drove to Cedric Street and Karrinyup Road, where he called St John Ambulance, who treated him and took him to Royal Perth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident in question or has dashcam vision of the area at the time.
