MASSAGE Club chief executive Grant Jones wants to change the public perception of massage.

Mr Jones runs remedial massage clinics in Joondalup, Success and Cannington and often has customers call to inquire if they offer “proper” massage.

He believed many people associated massage with sexual services.

“If they’re offering massage after 9pm, there’s something suspicious,” he said.

He cited flashing neon signs and an obscured shopfront as other clues.

Mr Jones does not use search engine optimisation like most businesses because he believed searching “massage” would deliver results relating to sexual services rather than his business.

“It just seems like no one wants to do something about it,” he said.

“I don’t know what the solution is.”
