MAYOR Giovanni Italiano ordered security guards to haul an Osborne Park businessman out of a council meeting last week.

Public question time took a dramatic turn when council meeting regular Jack Garber was thrown out of the meeting after he asked Cr Italiano why he had voted in favour of a controversial Inglewood development at a Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP).

Cr Italiano said any decision made at the JDAP “had nothing to do with the City of Stirling”.

While being escorted out of the meeting Mr Garber said “democracy and ethics had been violated”.

He later returned to the public gallery.

Mr Garber said he was planning to run for the Osborne Ward in the October local election, which was vacated by new Balcatta MLA David Michael.
