PURPLE themed songs, clothing, games and even a purple pavlova were part of celebrations at Bethanie facilities last week.

Aged care homes and retirement villages in Mt Claremont, Menora, Gwelup, Innaloo and Joondanna hosted a variety of activities for Purple Week.

The week aims to recognise spiritual care at Bethanie facilities and show appreciation for its chaplaincy team.

Chaplain Kyla Hillmer said Bethanie on the Park in Menora held a purple party where guests wore something purple, sang along to Purple Cow by Doris Day and Purple People Eater by Sheb Wooley, played purple-themed games and enjoyed a morning tea with items including a purple pavlova.

“Lots of fun was had by all and (it was) a great way of building community,” she said.
