The students, from St John’s Primary School in Scarborough, competed against some of the cleverest young people from New Zealand, Thailand and Hong Kong.
The group won the Maths Engineering Competition in the primary division.
Mother and mentor Tricia Welsh accompanied the group to Sydney for the grand final and trained them for the challenges.
