Mirrabooka: pair charged over string of recent alleged burglaries

MIRRABOOKA Detectives have charged two men following an investigation into a string of crimes, including repeat burglary at the same shop and home invasion.

About 2am on Friday April 28, the pair allegedly damaged a window at a fast food restaurant on Yirrigan Drive in Mirrabooka, then proceeded to break into the store but did not steal anything.

Not long after, the two men allegedly smashed their way into the Mirrabooka Square Shopping Centre and made their way to a jewellery store where a large number of expensive watches were stolen.

On May 1 about 4am, one of the men allegedly went back to the same jewellery store and broke in again stealing more watches.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a Nollamara home where a large number of watches were found and two men were arrested and charged.

A 33-year-old man from Nollamara appeared in Perth Magistrates Court and was charged with three counts of burglary, one count of stealing and one count of criminal damage.

A 35-year-old man from Nollamara will attend court at a later date and was charged with receiving stolen goods.

A third man who police believe was involved has not yet been charged.

Detectives will continue the investigation.
