A Youth Focus ambassador since last year, Bruce said raising awareness about mental health was an issue close to her heart.

"Im passionate about reducing the stigma that stops so many people getting the help they need," the Scarborough resident said.

Youth Focus chief executive Jenny Allen said she was proud of Bruce's efforts to raise awareness and funds for the organisation.

"She's an outstanding role model for young West Australians," Ms Allen said.

"As less than 20 per cent of our annual income comes from the Government, we rely heavily on corporate support and committed individuals like Courtney."

Bruce said she was excited to put her elite fitness to the test for a good cause.

"The world can be a dark, scary and lonely place, but Youth Focus is working hard to help young people who are struggling to see light at the end of the tunnel," she said.
