Newborough PS students use Schools Tree Day and National Tree Day as a chance to plant seeds of future

NEWBOROUGH Primary School students rolled up their sleeves and planted trees as part of Schools Tree Day and National Tree Day on August 2.

Teaming up with Scarboro Toyota, staff and students got their hands dirty with planting activities at the school as part of the community tree planting and nature care event.

About 34 students, along with their gardening teacher Peter Blanch and principal John Worthy, began the event by distributing native plants, trees, shrubs, shirts, gloves, gardening tools, stakes and tree guards. and finished with a planting demonstration.

Scarboro Toyota dealer principal Daniel Davies said they were proud to support the community and National Tree Day.
