MEMBERS of North Beach RSL Sub-Branch are re-enacting the journey of soldiers returning home from World War I to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Armistice.
President John Rolfe said a group of about 30 will walk from Fremantle to North Beach over two days.
“We feel it is the least we can do to thank the veterans who have gone before us,” he said.

On Friday, they will walk from Fremantle to the Campbell Barracks in Swanbourne and the next morning, from City Beach to North Beach.
They will then march to the war memorial at Charles Riley Reserve in North Beach on Sunday for the Remembrance Day service to commemorate the Armistice centenary.
People are invited to gather from 10.30am and the service will include a choir performance, laying of wreaths and unveiling of a plaque on the wall of honour to recognise Second Lieutenant Simon Fraser, who helped rescue wounded soldiers from the battlefield at Fromelles in 1916.
Scarborough RSL will also hold a service and morning tea from 10.40am at the memorial garden at the corner of Shearn Crescent and Millcrest Street, Doubleview.
