Kate LeaverStirling Times

NORTH Beach RSL members were rewarded at their monthly meeting with a $7500 check donated from a fundraiser run.

About 57 runners from the Perth Mint Gallipoli Run at Kings Park raised the money at the Athletics WA event which gave serious runners, family groups, casual joggers a chance to pay their respects.

The run passes the many plaques dedicated to those who lost their lives during World War I.

All proceeds from the event are shared by the RSL and Legacy WA.

Event organiser and veteran Graham Edwards said the run gave people of all ages and fitness levels the opportunity to take an active part in commemoration.

“The funds raised go to very good causes which help volunteer members of the RSL deliver services and assistance to veterans,” he said.
