Ocean shots capture what the locals love

Two of Mr Bell’s submitted pictures were selected ” the first taken at Trigg beach, the second at Hillarys ” and they will be published along with six others under the theme Only Locals Know.

Mr Bell said he loved photographing Perth’s beaches and was honoured that two of his photographs had been selected for the cover.

‘I’m always keen to experiment with different types of photography and recently I’ve been trying ocean photography,’ Mr Bell said.

With Perth’s beautiful beaches, I’ve got a great backdrop to work with and I was able to capture just how stunning the water is.’

Capture the Cover judge and professional photographer Steve Fraser said Mr Bell’s photographs summed up the region perfectly.

‘The Only Locals Know theme was all about finding those things that make our communities unique,’ Mr Fraser said.

‘The things that remind you why you love where you live and what makes it special.’
