“Local Projects, Local Jobs not only helps grassroots sports clubs with upgrades to their facilities, it provides benefits to local small businesses and jobs in the process,” Mr Murray said.

“David’s advocacy means his local bowling, soccer and cricket clubs will be able to offer much more to attract new members and keep club stalwarts coming back.

“It is that membership which keeps clubs thriving.

“Strong local clubs not only contribute to healthier, more active communities, they also help keep communities connected.”

Mr Michael said the funding was part of his commitments at the this year’s elections.

“I am really pleased to have been able to secure this funding for local community-run organisations which give so much to our area.”
